HORNETS EAT UP THE TIGERS

HORNETS EAT UP THE TIGERS: Fullerton College hosted Riverside City College on Saturday locking down an 11-2 Orange Empire Conference win over the Tigers.

The Hornets (9-5 overall, 1-1 OEC) scored three runs in the second inning (Catcher Oliver Jackson hit his 2nd homer scoring 2) and another run in the 3rd building an early 4-0 lead. 4 more FC runs came in the 4th and 3 more in the 7th to help secure the win over Riverside (11-5, 1-1).

FC starter Jeff Curran (5-0) grabbed his 5th win on the season after throwing a complete game. Curran allowed 1 earned run, 0 walks on 7 hits while striking out 7 batters.

Offensively, Fullerton went wild accumulating 17 hits.  Oliver Jackson nearly missed the cycle hitting a home run, a triple, and a single.  He also drove in 3 runners while scoring a run himself.  SS Jose Rojas was 3-5 with a run and a RBI while DH Troy Mulcahey also delivered with 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. CF Dakota Wix and LF Alan Willes each had 2 hits to go with 2 runs.  Singles were had by RF Uriel Salinas (2 runs), RF Ryan Joyce (1 SB), Garrett Valdez (1 RBI), 2B Derreck Garcia (1 RBI), and 3B Erik Lewis (1 run, 2 RBIs)
