CAN'T KEEP A GOOD HORNET DOWN

CAN'T KEEP A GOOD HORNET DOWN: The Hornets take one away from the Dons on the road beating Santa Ana College 5-4 on Saturday.

Down 4-1 in the 7th inning, Fullerton bounced back to score 4 runs while keeping the Don offense in check.  FC 3B Erik Lewis got it going on a SAC Fly to center field that gave RF Uriel Salinas access to home plate.  DH Troy Mulcahey doubled to right center scoring 2B Derreck Garcia and CF Ryan Joyce.  SS Jose Rojas knocked one to center field to bring Mulcahey home.

FC starting pitcher Jeff Curran (5-0) took the no decision going 5.1 innings allowing 8 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks, with 5 strikeouts.  RP Jacob Miller (3-0) earned the win going 2.1 innings giving up only 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, with 2 strikeouts. RP Sean Michel (1-0) went 1.1 with no hits or runs to earn his 3rd save on the season.

Up Next: The Hornets and Dons will wrap up the season series this Tuesday, March 19th on Hornet Field. The first pitch will be at 2:00 pm.
