FULLERTON SWEEPS PALOMAR: Fullerton College hosted Palomar College on Saturday holding off the Comets 11-5.
FC won the two-game series beating Palomar in a 10-8 shootout on the road Thursday.
On Saturday, the Hornets exploded for 5 runs in the first inning and never looked back as pitcher Jeff Curran threw a solid game going 7.1 innings allowing 1 earned run on 10 hits while striking out 8 batters.
Hornet SS Dakota Wix had a great day at the plate going 3-4 with 2 triples, 3 runs, and a RBI. C Paul Frias and 3B Eric Lewis, 2B Nick Gotta each had 2 hits and 2 RBIs. DH Oliver Jackson had 1 hit, a run, and 2 RBIs.
Up Next: The Hornets (5-2 overall) will host Long Beach City College on Tuesday, February 19th. Game time is at 2:00 pm.
