HORNETS TAKE GAME TWO

HORNETS TAKE GAME TWO: The #1S Fullerton Hornets hosted #18S East Los Angeles College and held on for the 6-4 win. The third and deciding game of the SoCal Regionals will be played at 3:10 today.

Fullerton (26-12) took an early 1-0 lead in the 1st inning, added another run in the 2nd, three in the 5th, and one more in the 6th. ELAC scored two in the second and made a push in the 8th loading up the bases while forcing in a run on a double-play. The next ELAC batter hit one at FC SS Jose Rojas and he made a nice catch and throw to first ending the threat.

FC starter Juan Berumen (4-3) grabbed the win while RP Sean Michel earned his fourth save on the season.

  The Hornets won the first playoff game today after a 21 year drought. The last time they won a playoff game was in 1992, a 12-6 victory over Los Angeles Harbor College.
