HORNETS WIN GAME THREE

HORNETS WIN GAME THREE: The #1S Fullerton Baseball Hornets advance to the SoCal Super Regionals for the second time in school history! Heading into Saturday, the Hornets were licking their wounds from the 6-5 opening series loss against East Los Angeles College, but Fullerton proved to be resilient winning back-to-back games (Game Two 6-4 / Game Three 4-3) advancing to the CCCAA Southern California Super Regionals.

In the third and deciding game, the Hornets gave up a 2-run homerun in the very first inning. ELAC also added an unearned run in the 3rd on a wild pitch. The Hornets made their move in the 2nd scoring two runs to cut the Husky lead down (Salinas SAC Fly and Joyce single scoring Frias). In the 3rd, FC produced two more runs take the 4-3 lead (Lewis knocked in Wix and Donohoe SAC Fly scoring Mulcahey). Fullerton's excellent defense maintained the lead and preserved the win.

FC starter Troy Mulcahey (3-2) got the win while RP Jacob Miller earned his fourth save on the season.

The Hornets game two playoff win (6-4) was their first since 1992, a 12-6 victory over Los Angeles Harbor College.

East LA College ends their season with an overall record of 26-14.
