BASEBALL: ON A ROLL

BASEBALL: ON A ROLL

After beating Victor Valley 13-2 at home Thursday, Fullerton hosted Allan Hancock College on Friday and held off the Bulldogs 14-11.

FC opened up a big early lead over AHC a run in the first and then five runs in the second.

Up 6-0 heading into the third inning the Bulldog bats woke up as they moved three runners across home plate to cut the lead in half.

In the fourth, the Hornets put up another run on a single by CF Dakota Wix scoring 1B Ismael Sanchez.

With a healthy 7-3 lead, the Hornets let the Bulldogs slip past them with a 5-run outburst in the sixth, but FC took back control the game in their next at-bat scoring 6 runs to take a 13-8 lead.

Fullerton added another run in the seventh when SS Jose Roajs singled up the middle allowing RF KC Huth to score.

Hancock scored three runs in the 8th, but it would not be enough to cease the non-conference win.

The win gives the Hornets an overall record of 8-3. The Bulldog loss sets their record at 9-2.

Up Next: The Hornets will play on Saturday, February 22nd at home against LA Mission College.  Game time is at 12:00 pm. Come on out and enjoy the game as this event will feature the Fullerton College Baseball Wall of Champions Induction Ceremony honoring former Hornet greats.
