BASEBALL: FULLERTON ROLLS ON

After beating Orange Coast College 3-1 on the road Tuesday, the Hornets kept it going at home on Thursday handing Irvine Valley a 5-2 loss.

The win gives FC an overall record of 15-5 with an Orange Empire Conference record of 5-2 while the Laser loss lands them at 6-13 overall and 2-5 in the OEC.

Fullerton went up early scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the second. 1B Riley Roberts' single to shortstop scored catcher Troy Prasertsit, 3B Ricky Perez hit a SAC fly to right field scoring DH Oscar Heredia, and 2B Nick Gotta singled to center field scoring Roberts. 

FC added two more runs in the fifth on a single by Heredia to the right side scoring Gotta and Roberts walk forced in Prasertsit with the bases loaded.

Irvine Valley tried to make a run at the 5-0 lead scoring two runs of their own in the top of the eight, but it was shut down by RP Parker Merritt.

Fullerton's starting pitcher Dylan Prohoroff (3-0) locked down his third win of the season throwing 6 innings with 5 hits against and 6 strikeouts. RP Merrit went 1.1 innings with 2 this against, no earned runs, and a strikeout. Closer Austin Sweet got his third save on the season thowing an inning with only 1 hit against.
