BASEBALL: HORNETS SAIL ON WALK OFF WIN

The Hornets took Mt. San Antonio into the 10th inning at home on Saturday putting together a 6-5 walk-off win thanks to Julio Rivera's hot bat.

The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning when Mt. SAC drew first blood scoring a run on a Fullerton error.

FC evened things up in the 5th at 1 apiece on single by catcher Julio Rivera that brought home OF John Orlando

The Mounties went ahead 3-1 in the 7th when CF Dustin Frailey tripled to left center scoring RF Nathaniel Alam and OF Aaren Vaughns.

Fullerton took a run back in the bottom of the 7th when Rivera singled to left field allowing Orlando to score.

Mt. SAC put up another run in the 8th to go back up 4-2 on a single to center field by 3B Esteban Ortega that scored SS Travis Santiago.

The Hornets broke out in the 8th scoring 3 unearned runs to go up 5-4. OF David Miranda crossed the plate from third base on a SAC fly to center field by SS Justin Row. Then Rivera struck again doubling just over the third baseman's glove scoring Laine Huffman and Orlando.

The Mounties were not down for long as they tied it up 5-5 in the 9th when Alam flied out to right field for a SAC fly that scored 2B Todd Yost for an unearned run.

Tied 5-5 in the bottom of the 10th, Rivera came up to bat with Huffman on second and Row on first. Ripping the ball to left field, Rivera came through again for the Hornets as Huffman sprinted to home plate for the winning run.

Rivera was a one-man wrecking crew for Fullerton going 4-6 at the plate with 5 RBIs.

Up Next: The Hornets (5-0) will host Southwestern College this Tuesday, February 10th. The first pitch goes out at 2:00 pm.
