BASEBALL: SADDLEBACK EVENS IT UP

The Hornets lost a tough one at home Thursday to #1 in the south Saddleback College 14-1 evening the crucial three-game Orange Empire Conference series. 

The Hornets scpred their lone run in the first inning when Austin O'Banion doubled in Laine Huffman from first base giving FC a 1-0 advantage.

The Gauchos evened it up in the third when Dallas Dey scored on double to left by Luke Jarvis.

Saddleback added two more runs in the fourth. With the bases loaded, Robbie Biehl poked one through the left side scoring Andrew Wilson. Rey then knocked in Ryan Fitzpatrick on a deep shot to left field. A walk and a SAC fly to center scored two more Gaucho runners. By the end of the innning, Saddleback held a 5-1 edge.

The Gauchos put up a run in the fifth when Jared Donahoe led off the inning with a solo shot nearly hitting the left field foul pole.

Saddleback put up two more runs in the sixth and did not look back after that.

Up Next: Fullerton travels back down to Saddleback College to wrap up the series on Friday, April 29th. The first pitch will go out at 2:00 pm.
