BASEBALL:  SHUT OUT BY LANCERS

The Hornets played host to Pasadena City College in a non-conference match-up on Saturday afternoon and were blanked by the Lancers 6-0.

The Lancers went up 2-0 in the first inning on a ripped single to right field by Jason Ajamian that brought Nico Martinez and Tony Shue home.

Pasadena added a run in the second when Shue grounded out to second, but it gave Ryan Lewis the chance to score.

In the fifth the Lancers made it 4-0 when Matt Orozco hit a SAC fly to left field allowing Ardon Fryer to score.

The Lancers put two more runs on the board in the eighth sealing the game. Martinez hit a single to right field scoring Jose Jimenez and Lewis.

It was a tough day for the Hornets as they stranded 9 batters on 7 hits.

Fullerton's Monte Montenegro and Jake Hall both had 2 hits on the day. Hall also made some great defensive plays at third base.

Up Next: The Hornets (7-8 overall) will host Moorpark College on Tuesday, February 26th at 2:00 pm.
