BASEBALL:  EVENING OUT THE SERIES

After losing a heartbreaker against Golden West College, Fullerton tied the series Thursday on the road winning the game 5-2.

Not wanting to repeat the same error as the previous game against the Rustlers, Fullerton opened the score in the top of the 2nd inning with a sacrifice fly from Ivan Ramos allowing Chase Kerr to cross home plate. In the same inning Jake Hall created a distraction by stealing second base giving the go ahead to his teammate Jake Anderson to score from third.

The Hornet bats were constant, and in the top of the 5th Tate Brock's double gave Ryan Aguirre enough time to score. Brock doubled again in the top of the 9th and went on to score on a wild pitch a few plays later.

Pitcher Garrett Molnar (3-2) won the game for the Hornets grabbing his thrid win of the season. Molnar threw 7 innings allowing only 4 hits and 1 earned run. Reliever Kevin Foley (1 Save) went 2 innings earning the game save with 2 strikeouts.

Up Next: The Hornets (8-9 overall 1-1 Conference) will host the final game of the three-game series today agains the Rustlers at 2:00 pm.
