The Hornets opened up a three-game conference series at home against Riverside City College on Tuesday and lost game one 10-4.

Fullerton fell behind 2-0 in the second inning on a single that split the middle of the field by Riverside's Matthew Happ scoring Andrew Talkington and Angel Mendoza.

In the bottom of two, FC came close to breaking through loading the bases with no outs but came up empty.

Happ struck again in the third mirroring his hit up the middle scoring two Talkington and Mendoza once again.

Down 7-0 in the bottom of the fifth, the Hornets cut their deficit down scoring 3 runs. PJ Gordon hit a single to left field that brought Tyler Becker around, and Tony Accordino hit a shot through the left side scoring Adrian Gutierrez. Diego Black reached on a fielder's choice scoring Gordon.

Riverside got two back in the sixth when Dylan Morace hit a SAC bunt to the pitcher giving Talkington the chance to score from third. Happ came across from third when Joseph Hodap stole second.

FC's Montenegro began the sixth with a triple and scored on a passed ball soon after in the sixth.

The Tigers put up the game's final run in the ninth on a SAC fly by Junior Coleman allowing Hodapp to come home.

Up Next: Fullerton (6-12 overall, 1-3 OEC) plays game two of the series at Riverside City on Thursday, March 14th. Game time is at 2:00 pm.
