FOOTBALL: HORNET OFFENSE FLEXES SOME MUSCLE

Fullerton took a trip to El Camino College on Saturday afternoon and handed the Warriors their first Central Division loss 44-13.

The win ties an old Hornet record for 28 consecutive victories that originally occurred during the 1966-1968 seasons. The last time the Hornets lost was back on October 22, 2016, a 30-27 loss at Saddleback College.

Fullerton showed some offensive power today grabbing a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. On FC's opening drive running back Infant Eckford bulldozed in from the 3-yardline scoring the first touchdown. The next TD was scored in two plays at 2:56 when quarterback Quinn Commans hit Markelle Raymond for a 70-yard strike.

El Camino pushed back with 1:59 left in the quarter when former Hornet QB Grant Ferrauilo keyed in on Trevon Clark for a 20-yard touchdown.

Hornet QB Gresch Jensen got in on the action tossing a 63-yarder for Markelle Raymond's second TD reception at 12:08 in the second quarter.

The Warriors did not seem too fazed as Ferrauilo threw his second touchdown, a 26-yarder to Hunter Williams. El Camino was back in the game at 21-13 with 7:22 left in the first half.

FC began separating themselves from El Camino in the next drive scoring quickly at 6:04 on a 19-yard pass from Commans to Lucky Avinger. The Hornets added another touchdown at 44- seconds when Commans tossed the ball to Robert Downs from 6-yards out. With the half about to end, Fullerton got the ball back with 13 seconds still on the clock on their own 36-yardline. Jensen hit a streaking Tim Allen for 50 yards. As he struggled with an El Camino defender, Allen was pushed out of bounds by his teammate Robert Downs with 3 seconds left. Place kicker Alex Moreno was called on for a 31-yarder and hit pay dirt as the last second ticked off the clock to end the half. FC scored three times within a 6-minute span giving themselves a hefty 37-13 lead heading into the locker room.

The second half was all Hornets as they kept the Warriors out of the end zone while dropping one more touchdown for good measure, a 23-yard strike from Jensen to Dennis Houston on their first drive at 14:15 in the third.

Overall, the FC offense racked up 635 yards in total to El Camino's 285.

Up Next: The Hornets (9-0 overall, 4-0 conference) will play their final regular season on Saturday, November 10th when they host Mount San Antonio College. Kickoff is at 1:00 pm.
