MEN'S BASKETBALL: HORNETS WIN BIG

The FC men's basketball team ran through visiting Santa Ana College Wednesday night beating the Dons 106-72 in an Orange Empire Conference match-up.

The win gives Fullerton an overall record of 18-6 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 7-1, while the loss sets Santa Ana back to 6-18 overall and 1-7 in the OEC.

The Hornets began the game taking a 9-2 lead on a three-pointer by Ian Fox at 16:46. With just under ten minutes, FC grabbed a 22-9 lead on a pair of free throws by Kenny Barnes.

By halftime, the Hornets owned a large 55-31 lead. Fullerton controlled the game from the onset and never took their foot off of the gas pedal scoring their highest output of the season. FC's largest lead of the game was 40 points with just over two minutes left in the game.

Fullerton out-shot the Dons from the floor 53.2% to 45%, and they dominated the boards out-rebounding the Santa Ana 50-27.

Ian Fox had a game-high 20 points with 5 assists and 3 steals. Fox was 7-10 shooting and 6-8 from beyond the arc. Jordan Watkins scored 11 points with 4 rebounds and Johnathan Ross dropped in 10 points with 6 rebounds. Kenny Barnes scored 9 points with 9 rebounds, while Kendall Lauderdale and Dillon Reise both put up 8 points. Also, Jesse Ghee and Rodney "Rocket" Henderson put up 7 points each.

Up Next: The Hornets (18-6, 7-1) will play at home again this Friday, February 3rd against Irvine Valley College. Game time is at 5:00 pm.
