MEN'S BASKETBALL: FOOTHILL TOURNAMENT CHAMPS!

The No. 2 Hornets (10-1 overall) took a trip up north over the weekend to play in the Foothill College Tournament, and they won it all sweeping through the competition.

Meanwhile, the No. 1 team in the state in City College of San Francisco (12-0) remains unbeaten after winning the San Jose City College Classic this past weekend.

On Friday, Fullerton opened up against College of Marin (3-7) and sunk the Mariners 86-67. Lance Coleman II led all scorers with 28 points and had 5 rebounds. Rodrick McCobb had 12 points and Omajae Smith put up 11.

In the semi-final game on Saturday, FC exploded on Reedley College for an 87-52 win. Ronne Readus led the Hornets with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Smith put up 14 points and delivered 4 assists. Three FC players scored 12 points in Coleman II, Ezekiel Alley, and Vaj Rice

The championship game on Sunday featured Fullerton and the tourney host Foothill College (6-5). The Hornets took an early lead and ran away with it 89-60. Readus had a big game scoring 23 points with 10 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season. Coleman II followed with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists. Jailen Moore came off the bench to drop in 17 points, while McCobb scored 10 points of his own.

Up Next: Fullerton will host Santa Monica College (7-4) this Wednesday, December 12th in the Hornets Nest at 7:00 pm.
