MEN’S BASKETBALL: BACK ON TRACK

After Wednesday night's shocking last-second loss at Saddleback, the No. 3 Hornets traveled down to Santa Ana on Friday night and took down the Dons 75-50.

The win gives Fullerton an 18-2 overall record with an Orange Empire Conference record of 7-2. Santa Ana's defeat sets them back at 8-13 overall and 3-6 in the OEC.

The game did not get off to a good start for the Hornets as the Dons took charge with a 20-9 advantage by the 8-minute mark. With just over a minute left in the half, Fullerton tied the game up at 27-27. Ryen Perry's three-point shot lifted FC 30-27 to end the half.

The second half was all Hornets as they went on a 20-2 tear taking a 47-29 lead thanks to Harrison Bonner's three pointer (15:55). From there, Fullerton held strong taking their largest lead of 29 points with just over two minutes left in regulation.

Ryen Perry had an outstanding night leading the Hornets in scoring with 16 points with 5 assists. Jacob Eyman came through with 14 points and 6 rebounds, while Omajae Smith put up 9 points. Three players scored 8 points in Harrison Bonner, RJ Knibb, and Devin Howlin. Knibb also contributed 7 boards. Ronnie Stapp had 7 points along with 7 assists.

Up Next: The Hornets (18-2, 7-2) will host on Irvine Valley College (13-7 overall, 3-5 conference) on Wednesday, January 29th. Game time is at 7:00 pm. Come on out and support the team!
