MEN'S SOCCER: CHECK ONE IN THE WIN COLUMN

Last Friday, the Hornets walked away with a 2-2 tie against Golden West, and on Tuesday they cranked out a needed 2-1 home-win over Irvine Valley.

Only two games into conference-play, Fullerton and Santa Ana sit atop the OEC standing with records of 1-0-1.

In the Golden West game, Tyler Grassi scored for FC with the assist coming from Cesar Ortega (35:00). The Rustlers went on to score the next two goals to take the lead. With a minute left in the game, the Hornets tied it up on a goal by Miles Metoyer. Luis Dircio was credited with the assist.

FC goalie Silvestre Puebla had 5 saves on the day.

On Tuesday, FC drew first blood scoring in the 32nd minute when Danny Abrego-Fulton passed the ball off to Tyler Grassi who hammered one into the back of the net that gave FC the 1-0 lead.

It does not last long. IVC came thundering back three minutes later to even the score on a shot by Toby Waterman with the assist by way of Julian Anaya.

With time winding down, the game remained tied at one a piece, until the 84th minute. Nick Davila scored the game winner for Fullerton on an unassisted shot.

FC goalie Silvestre Puebla had 5 saves in 90 minutes of play.

Up Next: The Hornets (3-5-1 overall and 1-0-1 OEC) are going to play at Norco College this Friday, September 22nd. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
