HORNETS SOAR OVER GOLDEN WEST

The FC men's soccer team traveled down to Huntington Beach on Tuesday for an Orange Empire Conference match against Golden West College and blanked the Rustlers 2-0.

The Hornet victory places the team in a tie for second place in the OEC standings at 2-1, while GWC falls to 1-1-1. Alone in first is Orange Coast at 2-0, having beat Irvive Valley (2-1) and Santiago Canyon (0-3).

FC did not waste any time in scoring in this one as Joseph Espinoza put the ball in the back of the net off the feed from Cesar Zamora at the 10 minute mark.

The second goal came early in the second half thanks to Cooper Clark, who took the assist from Misael Gonzalez.

For the remainder of regulation, the FC defense faced a phyiscal challenge by a surging Rustler offense but held strong in the end.

FC goalie Jose Estrada recorded his third shutout of the season and had 5 saves for the win.

Up Next: Fullerton (6-4-2 overall, 2-1 OEC) will hit the road again on Tuesday, October 11th when they take on Orange Coast College at 3:00 pm.
