MEN’S VOLLEYBALL: OPEN FOR BIZ

Ranked #5 in the state, the Hornets began the season with a big win on Wednesday beating #2 LA Pierce College 3-2 on the road.

The first two games did not go so well for Fullerton as they found themselves in a deep hole early after dropping those sets 17-25 and 23-25.

In remarkable fashion, the Hornets turned the contest on its head winning the next three sets 25-23, 29-27, and 15-13.

"Every set was extremely close. I'm very happy with the effort and heart our guys showed. Playing against a team like LA Pierce is never easy- especially on the road. Our team showed great resilience, and I can't ask for much more than that", Hornet Head Coach Ed Rapp.

Javier Zavala had a team-high 11 kills along with 6 digs for FC, while Jacob Van Der Beek followed up with 10 digs. Kevin Poku chipped in with 7 kills and 4 block assists. Brian Marques delivered 46 assists.

Up Next: Fullerton (1-0 overall) will play host Santa Barbara City College on Wednesday, February 7th at 6:00 pm. Come on out and support the team for their first home game of the season!
