Saddleback College made their way to Fullerton to take on the Hornets on Wednesday to take place in what would be one of the tightest games of the season for both teams.

Saddleback has had Fullerton's number the last few seasons, taking wins the last five times that these teams have met for conference games. The 2019 Hornets had plans to flip the script this time.

Niko Vaccher proved to be the spark that the Hornets needed as he was producing early, scoring three times in the 1st quarter. Luis Rivera would then add a goal in the 2nd quarter, yet the Hornets still found themselves down 6-4 at the half.

A big third quarter opened up the scoring again for the Hornets, with goals by Zachary Angulo, Niam Schade, Aiden Davis, and Vaccher once again.

In the 4th quarter, Vaccher would go on to add another goal. Aiden Davis sent the game into overtime with 26 second left in regulation when he stole the ball, drove the length of the pool, and powered-in the game-tying goal.

In overtime, Zach Angulo would provide the finishing blow to Saddleback, capping off the comeback win with the game ending goal. Fullerton finished the game with a win by a score 11-10.

Vaccher and Angulo led the charge in a team effort that was complemented by a combined 21 saves from Sage Bertsch and Austin Navarrete in goal.
