MEN'S X-COUNTRY: FC MEN FINISH 6TH

The FC men's cross country team placed 6th out of 8 teams at the Palomar Invitational at Guajome Park in Oceanside on Friday.

The sun was high, hot, and the humidity was at its highest when the men took to the line.  Once the men settled in to their pace, the heat beccame too much for some of them.

Pablo Perez was the first man to cross the finish line for the Hornets, running 24:03 for the four mile course.

Soon behind him was Brandon Velasco 24:13, Alfredo Coria 24:26 then a gapped formed with Moises Cuahutles 25:48 and Patrick Tarango 26:28 finishing the top five runners.

"We will work on better gapping this next race with the men", claimed Coach Bevec. "We got disconnected in the third mile of the race with the back of the group. We have the talent this year with the men's team".

Kenneth Veltre 27:23 and Jorge Cisneros 27:51 rounded out the top seven men runners for the Hornets.

There were 82 total men in the race.

Up next for the Hornets: SoCal Preview at Central Park in Santa Clarita at  9:30 am.
