MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: AND THEY'RE OFF

The Hornets opened up their season attending the Palomar Invitational down in Oceanside last Friday. They placed fourth overall with 123 points. 

Sophomore Andrew Fernando was the first runner for the men running 22:14 (a 1:46 improvement from last year) and behind him was freshman, Mauro Rosales coming in with a 22:31 time. 

Returning sophomore Ryan Sheatz ran in the third spot with a 23:50 (his time is a 37 second improvement on this course) and freshman teammate William Gerard was seconds behind him with a 23:58 effort. 

Sophomore Matthew Worrall completed the course in 25:09 and freshman, Sean Wing was sixth man 25:15.  Eugene Cooper (25:41) claimed seventh man as Ian Rusk finished at the same time but Eugene Cooper had himself further across the finish line. 

Sophomores Erick Hernandez and Ian Sanders rounded up the team finishers. 

"These men have had a great summer training and we look forward to watching these men unravel their success throughout the season", Hornet Head Coach Gina Bevec.
