MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: HORNETS GETTING STRONGER

The Hornets finished in 7th place overall at the Mount San Antonio College Invite last Friday with all of the athletes putting together their best race of the season posting 200 points.

Ian Rusk led the pack finishing at 22:58, and Mauro Rosales was not too far behind coming in at 23:02. Andrew Fernando shaved 43-seconds off of last year's race finishing at 23:15. All three runners finished in the top 35 spots of the race.

"The 17-second gap between these the three Hornets really set the tone for the team", Hornet Head Coach Gina Bevec.

William Gerard crossed the finish line at 24:47, and Ryan Sheatz finished at 25:21.

Sean Wing (25:43) and Matthew Worrall (25:47) ran 6th and 7th for the team. Worall's time was an impressive two minutes faster than last season's.

"The training is really picking up for these men. The gapping is improving, and is presenting itself at the right time of the season", said Bevec.

Up Next: The OEC Championships will be held on Friday, October 26th at Riverside City College. Race time is at 9:45 am.
