The Hornets shut out the #1 team in SoCal Santa Ana Dons on the road Wednesday 2-0. It was SAC's first shut out loss of the season.
The win gives the Hornets their first in the Orange Empire Conference and improves their overall record to 9-6. The loss gives SAC only their second of the season (15-2 overall) with a 4-2 OEC record.
The two runs came in the second and fifth innings. 3B Breana Pineda showed off some offensive power with a solo home run over the centerfield wall. Bianca Espinoza scored in the fifth when Alyssa Nava reached on an error.
FC starting pitcher Alyssa Felipe held the Dons to just three hits pitching a complete game. She had four K's and walked five.
