Fullerton College brought down #3 in the state Santiago Canyon College at home Wednesday 3-2 in walk-off fashion.
The Hornets scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the third on a passed ball that allowed SS Elesiah Weiston to score from second base.
The Hawks came back to tie it up at one a piece in the fourth when catcher Maddison Smith reached on a Hornet fielding error that let pinch runner Misty Hewlet cross the plate.
Santiago Canyon took a 2-1 lead in the sixth on a Fullerton fielding error scoring pinch runner Andrea Olea.
The Hornets did not give up heading into the bottom of the seventh. With two on base, 3B Breana Pineda belted a shot to left center for a double that scored Weiston. As the ball came in from the outfield the Hawks committed a costly fielding error that allowed CF Alyssa Nava to score the winning run.
Up Next: Fullerton (18-16, 6-10) will play at Riverside City College this Friday, April 11th. Game time is at 6:00 pm.
