SOFTBALL: SOARING HIGH 

Fullerton's softball team continued their hot streak making it seven consecutive wins on Wednesday by enforcing the mercy rule against Orange Empire Conference adversary Saddleback College 8-0 in 6 innings. 

With only three conference games left in the season, Fullerton continues to make a push for a playoff spot. 

The Hornets took care of business against the Gauchos in the first inning as Eryka Springer knocked in Sabrina Anguiano to score the game's first run. Springer's RBI gave her 68 for her career tying the college's all-time record with Alexandria Avila (2013-14). She broke the the mark for most RBI in a season at 44 last season.

Fullerton scored again in the third on a double to right center by Nia Rodman scoring Elexa Rangel.

FC added another run in the in the fourth when Veronica Garza took advantage of Natasha Trujillo's fly out to center field and sprinted to home plate.

In the 5th inning, FC's offense picked up with Vanessa Coronado hitting homer with three on.

In the 6th inning, Rangel singled to center field, which scored Anguiano. Rodman closed the last inning with a single to shortstop that allowed Rangel to score. 

Starter pitcher for the Hornets Natasha Trujillo pitched 4 innings, had 2 strikeouts and only allowed 2 hits. Reliever Deanna Gonzalez closed the game by pitching 2 innings and having 2 strikeouts. 

Up Next: Fullerton (20-15 overall, 10-8 OEC) will host Santiago Canyon on Friday, April 20th at 2:00 pm for another OEC game.
