The Hornet defense kicked in as they held the Gauchos to only five points during the overtime period. Crucial free throws were made by Melody Thomsen to ice the game with 8 seconds left. Saddleback's deep three-point attempt fell short as Fullerton held on for the win.

Tristian Johns had another big game scoring a team-high 18 points for Fullerton. Tianna Buford and Melody Thomsen both contributed 11 points to the win. Buford also had 11 rebounds for a double-double night. Monica Hanna scored 8 points and brought down 11 rebounds.

The Hornets finished the season with an overall record of 12-16 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 4-8. After a slow start in conference-play, Fullerton turned it around in the end beating two of the better teams in the OEC. Head coach Marcia Foster has the FC program going in the right direction, and they will be ready to make a strong push for the title next season.
