WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: HELLO NEWMAN...

FC baller Monica Hanna will continue her academic and playing career at Newman University in Wichita, Kansas in the fall on a full athletic scholarship.

For the past two seasons Hanna has been a force in the paint for Fullerton averaging 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds a game during her freshman campaign. This past season, Hanna's numbers improved as she went on to average score 11.4 points and 10.1 rebounds a game. Out of 28 games played, Mo had 14 double-double games. She recently earned second team All-Orange Empire Conference honors for her efforts this season.

"Today we are celebrating the fact that one of our own is moving on to the next level and having the opportunity to play on a full scholarship. We take for granted that we get to keep going, but we don't. It takes hard work, commitment in the classroom, and Monica has done everything she's needed to do in order to have success. I'm very proud and excited for Mo, and Newman University is going to get a quality player and person. It's a great fit for both all around", Hornet Head Coach Marcia Foster.
