The Hornets had a tall order to fill at home Wednesday night taking on No. 5 in state Irvine Valley College and lost a harsh one 98-44.
Fullerton's loss lands the team at 10-15 overall with an Orange Empire record of 3-7, while the IVC win gives the Lasers an overall record of 20-2 with an undefeated/first place record of 9-0 in the OEC.
It was the worst defeat of the season for the Hornets, who were physically out-matched from start to end.
Fullerton hung around in the first quarter even taking a 6-4 lead at 5:41, but the wheels soon fell off, as FC had no answer for IVC's full-court-press. By the end of the quarter, the Lasers pumped out a 20-8 advantage.
The rest of the game was all Irvine Valley as the team ran up the score 91-37 with 4:30 left in regulation.
Destiny Goodloe put up a team-high 11 points with 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Janelle Ramos scored 8 points, had 3 rebounds, with 2 blocks.
Up Next: The Hornets (10-15 overall, 3-7 OEC) will try and get back in the win column next Tuesday, February 15th when they host Riverside City College (10-11, 4-4) at 7:00 pm.
