HORNETS TOO MUCH FOR THE WARRIORS

The FC women's basketball team traveled to El Camino College for a non-conference game and beat the Warriors 55-43.

It was the third straight win of the season for the Hornets, who have been playing a balanced offense along with strong defense.

Fullerton jumped out with a 7-0 lead in the first quarter that was set off by a three-pointer by Erin Choi. Hailey Lakey hit a nice jumper lifting the Hornets to 11-1, but the Warriors cut into the lead at 13-7 by the end of the quarter.

The second quarter was all FC as the team dropped a barrage of shots by Amya Iannone, Erin Choi, and Jimena Solorio for a 31-11 lead. By halftime, Fullerton owned a 33-17 advantage.

In the third quarter, the Hornets took their largest lead of 25-points (49-24) that was capped off by Kaylee Shimoda's three-pointer. 

By the fourth quarter, Fullerton let up a bit as El Camino pulled within 11 (53-42) with a minute left, but the damage was done as the Hornets walked away with a solid win.

Erin Choi and Jimena Solorio both led the way in scoring with 10 points. Solorio also had 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Hailey Lakey came up big with 9 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 steals. Kaylee Shimoda scored 8 points and had 3 steals along with 2 assists.
