HORNETS STING THE DONS

The No. 21 Hornets hosted No. 16 Santa Ana College Friday night in the Nest and stunned the Dons 74-61 in a much-needed Orange Empire Conference matchup.

It was a great win for Fullerton as the team is riding a 3-game win streak along with holding a first-place spot with Orange Coast College at 3-0 in conference-play. The Dons of Santa Ana drop a notch to 2-2 in the OEC standings.  

The Hornets were strong under the rim pulling down a team total of 44 rebounds compared to RCC's 30. FC shot 47.7% from the floor to the Tiger's 41.9%. Fullerton took the second and third quarters 45-30 and snagged their largest lead of 18 near the end of the 3rd.

Xochitl Hood stepped up with a game-high 24 points and ripped down 19 rebounds for a double-double. Julianna Conklin remained hot with 13 points with 3 rebounds, while Hailey dropped in 12 points with 5 rebounds. Kaylee Shimoda scored 11 points, had 8 assists, and 5 rebounds. Erin Choi contributed 9 points and 4 assists.
