WOMEN'S GOLF: SOCAL REGIONALS - DAY ONE

Fullerton's Geri De Ville is within striking distance of the lead at CCCAA Women's Golf So Cal Regionals.

First-year competitor and 2nd team All Orange Empire Conference student-athlete, Geri De Ville of Fullerton College, fired a season-best score 79  (par 72) at Via Verde Country Club in San Dimas, in near perfect weather and course conditions.

She is within seven shots of  individual leader, Huruka Koda of College of the Canyons, the 2018  CCCAA state runner up to Fullerton's  own Eunsoo Jeon (AA 2019), shot an even-par 72 at the Southern California CCCAA regional Women's Golf Championships.

Several golfers from the OEC: 2019 OEC champion, Precious Saelee, Mount San Antonio; Katie Stribling, Saddleback; and Raegan Preece are all tied for second place at 78.

De Ville sits alone third place is in excellent position to compete for medalist and all-region honors on the final day of competition to be held on Veteran's Day, Monday, 11 November 2019 continuing at Via Verde CC.  She will likely need to shoot under par and hope that Ms. Koda comes back to the pack in what is likely to be a picture perfect day for golf with clear skies, calm winds and highs in the low 80's.

Up Next: Play resumes at 6:30 am on Monday with the conclusion of round one with round two commencing immediately after at 8:30 am. Geri will tee off at 10:00 am.
