LEE CROWNED CCCAA INDIVIDUAL STATE CHAMPION

LEE CROWNED CCCAA INDIVIDUAL STATE CHAMPION

FC's Cathilyn Lee was crowned as the 2022 CCCAA Individual State Champion after shooting a 75-79-154 during the two-day State Tournament at Morro Bay.

A freshman, Lee topped College of the Canyons' Motoko Shimoji (76-78-154) for the top spot by way of a tiebreaker.

Saddleback's Nicole Whipple finished third in the state with a 158, followed by Reedley College's Keahna Castillo (160), College of the Canyons' Floria Peugnet and Santa Barbara City College's Carlee Stevens (162), who battled the chilly weather and a lack of sunlight to shoot the best round on Monday, a 4-over-par, 76.

It is only the second time in the program's history that an individual has won the state title. In 2018, under the guidance of head coach John Winek, Eunsoo Jeon won it all shooting 69-73-142.
