WOMEN'S SOCCER: HORNETS OUTLAST SADDLEBACK

The No. 17 FC women's soccer team went down to the OC Great Park on Tuesday and beat No. 9 Saddleback College squad 1-0.

The win keeps the Hornets in the hunt in the Orane Empire Conference standings at 4-1-1 with an overall record of 7-2-1. The Gaucho loss bumps them to 2-3-1 in the OEC and 5-3-2 overall. Fullerton now sits in third place just behind in second Cypress (4-1-2) and Santiago Canyon in first (6-0).

The lone goal of the game came in the 25th minute when Brianna Remedios passed the ball over to Alyssa Madrigal, who booted the ball past the goal keeper for the score.

Fullerton's defense proved to be too much for Saddleback holding the Gauchos scoreless for the remainder of the game.

FC goalie Kayla Ippolito was outstanding in the box earning a shutout with 4 saves on the day.

The team wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Up Next: The Hornets (7-2-1 overall, 4-1-1 OEC) will host undefeated Santiago Canyon College this Friday at 3:00 pm. This will be a big test for Fullerton against the state's No. 3 team so come out and support your Hornets!
