WOMEN'S TENNIS: FC OVER HOPE
The Hornets played at Hope International University on Tuesday and got the best of the Royals 5-4.
In doubles play Kalie Laubie and Alexandra Altamirano won big at 8-1. Lael Cardinal and Lauren Smith won by default.
The entire contest all came down to the singles play match between by FC's Mayumi Okubo and HIU's Jasmine Hyacinth. Okubo jumped ahead early grabbing a 6-1 edge. Hyacinth came back strong to win 5-7, but Okubo was able to hang on winning the tie break 1-0 (12-7).
Up Next: The Hornets (2-1 overall) will open conference-play at Cypress College on Thursday, February 23rd @ 2:00 pm.
