W. TRACK & FIELD: LET THE SEASON BEGIN

The Hornet's opened up their 2014 season competing in a cluster meet held at Golden West College last Friday. 

The FC women caught the Dons of Santa Ana College with a 57-47 win, but fell in a double loss against Riverside City College (16-120) and Golden West College (63-70).

"It was fun competing today and I have so much more to give in my throws", claimed Rebecca De Iorio.  De Iorio won the Javelin with a throw of 29.85 meters and her teammate Michelle Carter came in third with a throw of 28.73. 

Althea Streeter doubled the 400M 1:02.71 and 800M 2:29.93 for good early season times.

Vanessa Franco ran for second in the 400M H in 1:11.96 and finished fifth in the 100M H in 17.73. 

The distance team is showing their strength coming off of their fantastic 2013 Cross Country season with Daisy Esparza running for second place in the1500M with a time of 5:14.38 and 3000M in 11:06.97 respectively.  Taylor Morico, Maegan Garritson, and Krystal Martinez were close behind. 

Up Next: The Hornets (1-2) will host an Orange Empire Conference cluster meet on Friday February 21st.  Events will begin at noon.
