WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD: THE AVC INVITE

The Lady Hornets competed in Lancaster at Antelope Valley last Friday with positive results.

For this meet, the coaches had only the throwers and jumpers compete with a few of the athletes moving their marks upward. Kailani Talag had the best performance of the day tossing the hammer 92'3. That mark is 18 feet further from her previous mark! Talag continued her personal record quest in the shot put throwing a foot farther for a 34' 8.25" effort. She now ranks her 6th in the OEC. Ranked 10th in the discus, Kailani finished out her day with a 94' 6" PR.

"It was a good day, and my throws are starting to click with me" said Talag.

Marianne Gourd competed in the hammer, shot put and discus nearly broke all her personal records.

Yessenia Gutierrez competed in the hammer and did not connect with the throw she wanted. She is working on a few things with her technique, and it will happen for her in the next couple of meets ahead.

Shyleen Ramos achieved a PR in her long jump with a 13' 9" mark.

"I have more there and I know can jump farther", said Ramos.
