WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD: RAMPING IT UP IN THE OEC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The OEC Championships were held at Riverside City College last Friday, and the Lady Hornets represented well with a fourth place finish of 62 points.

The Hornets came up with one champion title in the women's 400-meter relay with a time of 51.99 from Shyleen Ramos, Jordyn Reese, Madison Reese, and Myrna Gillas

Madison Reese and Jordyn Reese came in seventh and eighth place in the 100 meters. 

Shyleen Ramos picked up seventh place in the 400 meters running one second off of her best time. 

Belen Gonzales ran for fourth place in the 1500 meters. 

The field kicked up some personal best for the ladies with Myrna Gillas nailing her best jump of the season with a 5' 1" high jump for second place. Marianne Gourd had another personal best in the hammer of 141' 6" and finished in fourth place. Teammate Philliz Tu'avao tossed a PR in the hammer 108' 4" picking up eighth place. 

Yessenia Gutierrez and Marianne Gourd finished seventh and eighth place in the discuss.

All athletes that finished in the top six automatically advance (meeting the minimum standards) to this meet. 

Up Next: The SoCal Regional Championships at San Diego City College Saturday, May 5th. Field Events start at 9:00 am. Track Events start at noon.
