WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD: GILLAS AN ALL-AMERICAN & ALL-OEC
Freshman Myrna Gillis is now an All-American athlete after placing fourth overall the CCCAA State Track and Field Championships that were held at Bakersfield College last Saturday.
Myrna competed in the high jump event with a leap of 5'3" for an impressive fourth place finish.
"This journey has been amazing. The work has paid off, and I'm excited to be an All-American", replied Gillas.
Myrna finished out the season with great pride and respect for herself while making the Hornet program very proud. She had awesome support from her coaches, teammates, and mom who came out to watch her compete.
The sky is the limit for this budding freshman who will look to make another run at becoming a state champion next season.
