WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD: CUEVAS TAKES 2ND IN OEC HEPTATHLON

Freshman Roxanne Cuevas placed second at the Orange Empire Conference Heptathlon at Santa Ana College on Wednesday and Thursday.

Cuevas' efforts totaled 2,846 points over the two-day competition.

"I had fun, and now I know I can push farther in my events. I liked how I competed and was able to be focused with each event", claimed Cuevas.

With seven events in the Heptathlon, Roxannes hard work and athleticism made it possible for her to achieve the second place finish in her first-time competing in the event.

Each event has its own table of points with a mark achieved. Roxanne won the shot put overall, and came in second place with the 100M hurdles, 200M, and long jump events. Her points qualified her for the Southern California Heptathlon Championships in April at Cerritos College. She is currently ranked third overall in SoCal.
