WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: SHOCKER

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: SHOCKER

Ranked 21st in the state, the Hornets hosted #6 Golden West College on Friday night and brought out their brooms sweeping the Gauchos 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-19).

After going 10-0 to start the season, the Fullerton stumbled getting themselves stuck in a mini-slump that last few weeks dropping four out of the last seven matches.  One of those losses was a 3-0 road beat down at the hands of Golden West on October 16th.

With the win, the Hornets proved that they are not going away quietly with an overall record of 14-4 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 7-4.  The Rustler loss gives them an overall record of 14-3 and an OEC record of 8-3.

Without the services of their kill leader, Madalene Barrett, FC's Alanna Hayhurst stepped up with 12 kills, 2 aces, and 11 digs.  Shawnna Chung had 8 kills and matched that with 8 digs.  Celeste Snider was all over the floor with 21 digs.  Tiffany Cobian had 19 assists and 11 digs while Kristen Santos helped out with 12 assists and 11 digs.

Up Next: The Hornets will try and keep it rolling when they travel to Riverside City College on Wednesday, November 13th.  Game time is at 6:00 pm.
