Fullerton lost a close one at home Friday night 3-2 (25-23, 25-20, 15-25, 17-25, 11-15) to Golden West College in the Orange Empire Conference opener.
The match was a tough one to lose as it was the Hornet's third consecutive loss, and to top it off, they were up on the Rustlers two games to zero. GWC made some adjustments and turned the match on its head winning three straight games.
Fullerton's Kaylyn Johnson brought down 12 kills and Lauren Schafer added 11. Kailyn Case distributed 31 assists and had 2 aces. Andrea Lopez had 7 kills with 5 aces, while Maya Maldonado and Carlie Ortega both had 9 digs each.
Up Next: FC (3-4 overall, 0-1 OEC) will play at cross-town rival Cypress College on Wednesday, September 20th. Game time is at 6:00 pm.
