WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: THREE-SWEEP HORNETS

In an Orange Empire Conference matchup, the Lady Hornets hit the road against Santa Ana College Wednesday night and won 3-0. It was their third 3-0 sweep in as many games.

The FC win gives them an OEC record of 5-4 (5th place tie with Saddleback) and an overall record of 10-5. Santa Ana's defeat lands them at 1-8 in conference and 2-14 overall.

In the first set, the Hornets went up early. The Dons tried to make a late push, but it was not enough as Fullerton took it 25-20. Santa Ana would not go away quietly in the second set, but FC finished it 25-23. The third set was all Fullerton as they ran away with the game 25-13 to win the match.

Freshman Amanda Anderson played big with a game-high 12 kills with 9 digs and 3 block assists. Sophomore Kailyn Case delivered 31 assists, 6 kills, 8 digs, and 2 aces. Samaria Longstreet had 9 kills, while Lauren Schaefer contributed 8 with 10 digs. Andrea Lopez also scooped up 10 digs.

Up Next: The Hornets (10-5 overall, 5-4 OEC) have a big conference match against Saddleback College (5-4 OEC), a team that beat them earlier in the season 3-1. Now tied for fifth in the Orange Empire Conference, something has to give as both teams fight for a playoff spot. The match will be played at Fullerton's South Gym this Friday, October 19th at 6:00 pm. Come on out and show your Hornets some love!
