WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: BIG OEC ROAD-WIN

Fullerton grabbed their first conference win on the road Friday night shocking a talented Orange Coast College squad 3-0 (26-24, 25-12, 25-21).

In game one, the Hornets and Pirates battled it out exchanging leads, but Fullerton pulled off a crucial first-game win 26-24. With the momentum on their side, FC rolled past Orange Coast in game two 25-12. Taking an early lead in game three, Fullerton opened the door for OCC to make a run, but the Hornets held strong closing the door on the Pirates 25-21.

The win was a big one for Fullerton as they handed a strong OCC team (9-2 overall) only their second loss on the season.

Mackenzie Kjenstad had one of her best games as a Hornet with a team-leading 11 kills. Samaria Longstreet brought down 9 kills with 4 blocks, and Saylor Frew brought down 7 kills with 8 digs. Karen Delgadillo had 29 assists with 5 digs, and Priscilla Gutierrez hustled 14 digs. 

Up Next: The Hornets (6-6 overall, 1-1 conference) will keep on trucking on the road this Wednesday for another conference match at Santiago Canyon College on Wednesday, October 2nd at 6:00 pm.
