BIG EFFORT COMES UP SHORT

Playing at Mt. San Antonio College Wednesday night, the Hornets took the first set 26-24, but then lost the next three hard-fought 25-21, 25-21, and 25-22.

Missing a few key players coming into the match, Fullerton competed well against a well-coached Mountie squad that now sits on an undefeated 4-0 overall record.

"I was very happy with our effort, and I am proud of the team for competing hard on every play", said Head Hornet Coach Niloofar Mojab.

Camille Castillo led the Hornets in kills with 11, while Jade McIntyre and Ane Mayfield brought down 9 kills a piece. Mareta Poe followed up with 8 kills and Arianna Islas chipped in with 7. Samantha Martinez had 16 digs, while Maile Grace Tabon and Amelia Hahs both dug up 9. Hahs had 22 assists and Mayfield delivered 19.

Up Next: Fullerton (1-1 overall) will be playing at the LA Mission College Kickoff Classic September 2-3. Game one will be against West LA College on Friday September 2nd at 10:00 am.
