In an Orange Empire Conference matchup on Wednesday, Fullerton traveled down to Saddleback College and cruised past the Bobcats 18-2.
Last weekend, the Lady Hornets suffered their first loss of the season losing to top-rival Santa Barbara City College 8-7 at the Mt. SAC Tournament. Fullerton wound up winning three out of four games at the tourney beating Santa Monica 23-0, Mt. SAC 14-3, and Long Beach 13-9.
For the Saddleback game, FC scored at will in the first quarter grabbing an 8-1 lead by the first quarter. By halftime, the Hornets were up 12-1 and then controlled the second half with six more goals to the Bobcat's one.
Amanda Ellerbroek and Neida Torres led the way for FC with 5 goals apiece. Jordyn Lughart and Maggie Moreno both contributed 2 goals. Tarsis Ledezma, Emily Jack, Charley Jackson, and Adrianna Wong had a goal on the day.
Kathryn Whittingham and Isabella Vergolino-Holiday split duties working as the goalkeeper. Whittingham had 5 save and a goal against, while Vergolino-Holiday had 3 saves and a goal against.
Up Next: The Hornets (10-1 overall, 2-0 OEC) will play in the MidSate Classic up at Cuesta College October 1-2.
