WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: SAN BERNARDINO INVITE

The Hornets appreciated their bye last week and performed well with big improvements at the San Bernardino Valley Invitational last Friday.

The race was on grass at the San Bernardino Soccer Complex and the terrain was all flat with loops around the complex.

There were a total of 83 runners in the race, and the Hornets finished in seventh overall.

Cassidy Nyenhuis finished first for the ladies in 32nd place with a time of 20:54. That was the first time all year she broke the 21-minute barrier.

Belen Gonzalez was a bit under the weather but still finished strong 38-seconds behind Cassidy. Kaitlyn Holt was only 81-seconds behind Belen and gave herself a personal time of 22:53.

Teammates Amber Hernandez and Daniela Hernandez also ran for personal records to finish out the team success.

"The team is getting in to shape and good work is happening. The Hornets set team goals and achieved them 100 percent", claimed Hornet Head Coach Gina Bevec.

Up Next: The Mt. SAC Invitational at Mount San Antonio College. Race time is at 10:00 am.
