WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: SOCAL PREVIEW

The FC women's cross country team ran in the Southern California Preview at Santa Clarita's Central Park on Friday. There were 210 runners and the ladies finished 13th out of 24 teams.

Maricruz Vargas was the team's number one runner with a 22:07 effort for the 5K.

"I liked the course and I felt good on the hills", said Vargas.

Teammate Cassidy Nyenhuis was only 18 seconds behind her and ran 22:25. Jessica Garcia was 42 seconds behind Cassidy and Kaitlyn Holt trailed 58 seconds behind her.

With four runners in, Sydney Castaneda was only 33 seconds behind Kaitlyn and crossed the finish line for the fifth women.  Rounding out sixth and seventh place were teammates Daniela Hernandez and Celine Tran

All of the ladies were supportive of each other and their efforts they gave on this course. Each week we are seeing stronger characteristics out of the ladies and they are figuring out how to run as a strong team.
