WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: OEC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Orange Empire Conference Championships were held at the Riverside City Course last Friday, and the lady Hornets finished in fifth place with 127 points.

There were a total of 54 runners in this race as Rebeca Perez continued to run as the team leader finishing in 16th place overall. Her time improved to 20:33 in the 5K course.

Seven spots later, Raquel Aldama finshed with her best time of the season at 21:05. 

Briseyda Lopez Martinez (23:32) and Ashley Lord (23:54) were within 22 seconds of each other putting together a strong team connection. 

Kimberly Estrada Rodriguez ran her fastest time of the season with a 26:49 effort as the fifth Hornets to cross the line.

Finishing in the top five spots as a team qualified the ladies for the Southern California Regional Cross Country Championships next week.  This race will also represent who will qualify for the state meet up in Fresno.
