2022 Fullerton College Hornet Football - 99th Key to the County Game - FC vs Santa Ana College
The Fullerton College Hornets travel to take on the Santa Ana College Dons. Mark Pavlovich, Corey Neyland and Ryan Osborn with the action from the Santa Ana Bowl in Santa Ana, CA. September 3rd, 2022 The Hornets will keep the key in Fullerton after beating the Santa Ana Dons at Eddie West Field Saturday night 56-7 in the 99th Key to the County game. Two records were broken tonight as FC pushed its way to victory. Sophomore Ronald McFoy broke the school record for the longest interception return in the fourth quarter when he picked the ball in the endzone taking it 100 yards for a touchdown. Fullerton broke the Key to the County series record for the largest margin of victory of 49 against the Dons tonight. FC did not hold back scoring on the very first drive of the game in four plays on Will Gipson's 9-yard TD reception with the pass coming from Josh Calvin. The Hornets went up 14-0 at the 4:32 mark when QB Josh Calvin took off on a sprint up the middle breaking free for a 26-yard score. Fullerton got back on the board 81-seconds later thanks to Salen Streater's interception that he took back to the house for a 42-yard score. Fullerton went for two and converted on a rush by Michael Love. At the start of the second quarter, Jonathan Fobear connected on a 38-yard field goal putting the Hornets up 25-0. With five minutes left in the half FC hit paydirt again on Josh Calvin's 34-yard strike to Cameron Woods. By halftime Fullerton held a comfortable 32-0 lead. Santa Ana scored its lone touchdown in the first drive of the second half when QB Ceasar Ayala hit Kyran Hayes for an 11-yard touchdown. In the third and fourth quarters Tyrell Greene Jr. ran for two TDs from 1-yard and 50-yards out. Jonathan Fobear added a 23-yard field goal and Ronald McFoy's record-breaking interception for a TD sealed the game. "I'm so proud of our players and their preparation throughout the week and their performance tonight. In a rivalry game it's always good to get in and out with a win! We look forward to preparing for an absolute battle against Cerritos College next week in our home opener", Hornet Head Coach Garrett Campbell.
